The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL
That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Bills had won seven in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just later
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defensive side and Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season
Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three different eight and two squads in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined 24 victories coming against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Broncos
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their pair of losses came in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, just like the Broncos, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns point for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to success
The defensive unit is solid and rookie running back Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the best record thanks to their schedule - which includes just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule
The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to travel but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two before next week's major game between the pair in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest
Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before losing to the final play of the game against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the top teams in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Berlin - rushing for 244 rushing yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
