Both Deceased Students Revealed in Brown University Shooting as Authorities Continue Hunt for Killer.

The pair of scholars who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack at Brown University had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their assailant persisted following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the only individual questioned in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The student Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was described as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, per the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as vice-president of Brown’s branch of College Republicans of America, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also posted words of sorrow online, remarking: “Words cannot express. Keeping in mind her kin and peers, especially her parents.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the Ivy League university, according to relatives.

The victim's identification was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a tribute.
