Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.

Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in popular television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a statement.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
