US President Donald Trump Affirms 'Generally, Parties Are Aligned' on Following Steps of Peace Deal in Gaza

US President Donald Trump has stated that "in general, there is consensus" on how the subsequent phases of the peace deal in Gaza will unfold, though he acknowledged that "some of the details … will be finalized."

"Hamas is gathering them now," the president commented, mentioning the hostages still held in Gaza. "They find themselves in quite harsh places."

The US president, who has been commended by the organization and many in Israel for his involvement in securing a ceasefire deal, expressed he thinks the agreement will "be sustained" because "they're all tired of the conflict."

Upcoming Summit on Gaza Situation

At the same time, the president intends to bring together world leaders for a summit on the Gaza situation during his visit to the North African nation in the coming week. Participants slated to take part are officials from the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic, the UK, Italy, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Indonesia.

According to sources, PM Netanyahu will not be present.

President's Schedule

He stated that he would engage with a "lot of dignitaries" in Cairo on Monday to talk about the direction of Gaza. Reports suggest that he will also go to Israel, where he will appear at the Knesset.

Major Updates

  • Issues linger over leadership in the Gaza Strip as Israel's military retreat step by step and if Hamas will relinquish arms, as required in the proposed deal. PM Netanyahu, who called off a truce in last March, suggested that Israel might restart its military campaign if they refuses to relinquish its weapons.
  • The international body was granted permission by Israel to commence distributing scaled-up relief into the Gaza Strip beginning this Sunday. The relief will include a large quantity that have been pre-positioned in neighboring countries such as Jordan and Egypt as aid workers awaited clearance from the army to resume their efforts.
  • An official the spokesman reported to reporters on last Friday that energy supplies, healthcare materials, and essential items have commenced entering through the Kerem Shalom border point. Representatives want authorities to allow access through additional crossing points and ensure secure passage for aid workers and residents who are going back to regions of the territory that were subject to intense shelling up until lately.
  • The leader he condemned Israel on Saturday for executing nocturnal attacks on civilian facilities that the health authority said caused one fatality. "For another time, the south of Lebanon has been the object of a atrocious Israeli aggression against non-military facilities—unjustifiably or pretext," Aoun said.
  • Israel provided a roster of the individuals in custody that it aims to free as under the truce deal agreed upon with the group. From the 250 Palestinian prisoners, 15 will be released in eastern Jerusalem, a hundred to the region, and the remainder will be deported. Originally, when the organization's delegates submitted a list of suggested prisoners to be released to negotiators in the country, they demanded the freeing of high-profile individuals such as the activist. Yet, Netanyahu's office confirmed it declines to let go the individual.
