NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games on various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , following recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the amount of infractions both committed. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that battle.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four defenders instead they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, and finding varied release points to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence must defend the area vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. He can really build something up how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
